Wondering whether your unused credits carry over at renewal? Here's how it works.
The Short Answer
Unused subscription credits do not roll over. When your billing cycle ends, any remaining subscription credits expire — and your plan's full credit allowance is added to your account for the new period.
How It Works by Plan Type
Plan Type | Credit Behavior at Renewal |
Monthly Subscription | Unused credits expire at the end of each month. You receive your full monthly allowance when the new cycle starts. |
Annual Subscription | All credits are delivered upfront and are valid for 12 months. At the end of your annual term, unused credits expire and a new allowance begins. |
Pay-As-You-Go (no subscription) | Credits expire 30 days after purchase. No renewal cycle applies. |
Enterprise | Credits never expire. Contact your account manager for details. |
What About À La Carte (PAYG) Credits on a Subscription?
If you purchased extra credits on top of your subscription, those follow the same rules — they expire at the end of your billing cycle once you're on a subscription plan.
Tip: Make sure to use up any PAYG credits before subscribing, since they'll be subject to your subscription's expiration schedule once you're on a plan.
Credit Usage Priority
When you have both subscription and à la carte credits, here's the order they're used:
1. Subscription credits are consumed first
2. À la carte credits are used only after subscription credits run out
How to Make the Most of Your Credits
- Check your remaining balance in the Billing section of your dashboard before renewal
- Plan higher-volume tasks for earlier in your billing cycle
- If you have credits left near the end of your cycle, consider running enrichments you've been putting off
